EMF Exposure + Tips

Electromagnetic waves, or EMFs, are produced from WiFi, cell phones, and other smart devices. 5G is being presented as the latest and greatest thing, but is it beneficial for humans? Let's take a look at the data. New research is being done that indicates EMFs may be more dangerous than we've been told. The International Agency for Research on Cancer has categorized low-frequency EMFs, such as those produced from cell phones, as a possible carcinogen. Carcinogens are substances that cause genetic mutations, leading to cancer development. However, it is important to recognize that these effects are seen in individuals with abnormally high cell phone use.

Even though devices such as cell phones only produce small amounts of EMFs, the concern is that low chronic exposure will result in problems later on. Studies have been and continue to be done regarding the effects of EMFs on cancer, fertility, the thyroid, sleep, and the brain. There is not an inordinate amount of evidence suggesting that EMFs are highly dangerous; however, it is probably in your best interest to limit your exposure.

Here are some simple steps you can take to limit your EMF exposure.

Keep your phone in a separate room while you sleep. Set it on a table away from the bed if you must have it in the room with you—the more distance between you and the device itself, the better.
Turn your WiFi router off at night, and avoid sleeping with your phone under your pillow or near your bed.
Steer away from "Smart Home" devices in which technology is constantly used throughout the day.
If you are planning on moving or building a house, you might want to try to avoid buying a place near high-voltage power lines.
Avoid putting your cell phone in your bra and keep it in a purse instead, and try using airplane mode on your phone when you aren't using it.
